Canal Widening (Bukit Timah)

Singapore Public Utilities Board's (PUB) has an initiative to enhance flood protection, via widening and deepening the stretch of Bukit Timah Canal from Rifle Range Road to Jalan Kampong Chantek to increase its rainwater capacity by 30%.

This helps mitigate the risk of the canal overflowing, as the Bukit Timah area is prone to flash floods after heavy and intense rain.
