Working closely with the innovative minds at KDOT, we embarked on a journey to craft a feature that seamlessly melds artistry with functionality. Our shared vision was to create an element that not only serves as a means of transition but also captures the essence of aesthetics and innovation. The result? A stunning perforated metal staircase and platform that not only bridges two levels but also acts as an art installation in its own right.
The Perforated Metal Staircase: An Elegance in Motion
The centerpiece of our collaboration is the breathtaking perforated metal staircase.
The intricate perforations allow light to dance through, creating a play of shadows that shifts throughout the day.
We were responsible for end-to-end metal fabrication: Customization, bending and powder coating of the perforated metal sheets (matte white).
A Gateway to the Sky: The Skylight Platform
Ascending the perforated metal staircase leads to a destination unlike any other—an open platform adorned with a skylight. The perforated metal platform is thick enough to bear weight, inviting occupants to pause and bask in the serenity that only a connection to nature can provide.
The skylight ushers in natural light that shines through the perforations of the perforated metal platform, blanketing the lower floors in light.

One of the defining features of this collaboration was the meticulous customization that went into every aspect of the design. The perforated metal staircase and platform were tailored to seamlessly complement the existing interior while adding a touch of contemporary elegance. From the spacing and pattern of the perforations to the choice of metal and finishing, every detail was carefully curated to achieve the desired aesthetic and functional goals.
